OPERATION KIDS

Operation Kids is a volunteer Reconstructive Plastic Surgery program that provides needed surgeries to adults and children in Guatemala. Founded in 1982 by Dr. Austin I. Mehrhof, Professor and Chairman of Plastic Surgery at the Medical College of Virginia, Operation Kids has provided hundreds of children in Guatemala with needed operations. Children and adults are treated for cleft lips, cleft palates, nasal deformities, and burn scar reconstruction.

Dr. Zemmel and his wife Melissa took part in Operation Kids in February 2004.
